Mackie-Sinclair-Hawkins has been a cornerstone in Yadkinville for over 80 years. Originally opened as Hinshaw Brothers Funeral Home in 1922, it became Mackie-Hinshaw in 1937. The original owner, Hurley Hinshaw, is given credit for setting high standards of funeral conduct, which are still practiced today. In 1963, Grady Mackie and Carl Gentry, Jr. purchased the funeral home from Hurley Hinshaw and, in 1972, moved the funeral home to its present location at 2001 West Main Street. It opened as Mackie-Gentry Funeral Home and Chapel. Because of this move, the funeral home was able to provide better service, due to the increased size of the building and additional parking. In 2000, Bob and Sue Sinclair bought the funeral home and, in 2007, it became Mackie-Sinclair Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. In 2012, it became Mackie-Sinclair-Hawkins Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., with our Manager, Darryl F. Hawkins, becoming co-owner. Bob, Sue, and Darryl have dedicated themselves to the high standards first set by Hurley Hinshaw, Grady Mackie, and Carl Gentry, Jr.

While traditional funeral services with burial are the most-requested services at Mackie-Sinclair-Hawkins, we offer a wide selection of cremation services and monument/memorial services, as well. Bob and Sue Sinclair have owned and operated Mackie-Sinclair-Hawkins for over a decade, with its manager, Darryl F. Hawkins, joining the ownership in January 2012. Darryl is a proud member of the Yadkinville community, serving as President of the Yadkinville Lions Club, Stewart in the Yadkin Lodge #162 A.F. & A.M., and President of the Board of Directors of the Yadkin County Rescue Squad, where he also volunteers as an EMT-Intermediate; he also attends Yadkinville United Methodist Church. Together, we all strive to put the families that we serve first and foremost.
