Rebecca Jane Laxton, 59, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at her residence. A native of Rowan County, she was born December 19, 1957, the daughter of the late Lester West and Eva Rebecca Broadway West, and she was the wife of Keith Laxton who she married on July 11, 2000.

Mrs. Laxton graduated from Davie County High School with the class of 1976 and was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Scott Swanson and fiancé Mary Swanson of Yadkinville, and Wayne Swanson (Kendall) of High Point; one brother, Clay West (Chris) of Mocksville; three grandchildren, Carlton Chase Swanson, Lesleigh Swanson and Josh Hoffman; and step-grandson Joshua Bennett.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville with Rev. Jesse Miles conducting the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Liberty United Methodist Church cemetery (141 Liberty Circle, Mocksville).

Scott and family. So very saddened at the loss of your sweet mom. Please find comfort in knowing that her suffering ended. She will never feel pain again. In time I pray you will find peace and remember the love she gave you.
