He was born in Forsyth County on September 6, 1951, the son of the late Edgar B. and Eula Geneva Shore Hutchins. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Eddie and Roger Hutchins, and a sister, Linda Taylor.

His memory will be cherished by his wife of 23 years, Susan Annett Willard Hutchins; two sons, Ricky Hutchens (Tracie) of Yadkinville and Steven Hutchens (Judena) of East Bend; three daughters, Stephanie McKnight (Ricky) of Yadkinville, Valerie Hutchins and Deana Hutchins, both of Hamptonville; a sister, Shirley Carter (Johnny Ray) of Yadkinville; 12  grandchildren: Farrah Hutchens, Brittany Hutchens, Josh, Dylan, Levi Reece, and Ethan Hutchens, Chelsea Riffe, Sammy Jo Reece (Daniel Jenkins), Brandon Marsh, Tyler Hoots, Cameron and Abagail McCurry; plus 4 great grandchildren and several special friends.

Mr. Hutchins was a graduate of Forbush High School. He had a career in the construction industry as a truck driver. He served with the NC State DOT for 20 years and also worked with Matthew Brothers Construction for 10 years. He attended Shady Grove Baptist Church.

He loved family gatherings and the opportunity to be with all his friends. He was a local guitar legend and undoubtedly was able to use that talent to entertain his family and friends on many occasions.

May god wrap each one you in his arms during the days to come. Please find comfort knowing he is playing lead in the greatest band ever known. Heaven has a new sound with a GRANNY twist. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Let the memories of the good time hold you till you all are together again. God bless each one of you... Love you all!!!!
