Mr. Steven Alec “Steve” Kennedy, 64, of Boonville, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Surry County on December 21, 1954, the son of the late Richard Davis Kennedy and the late Betty Lou Norman Kennedy. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Keith James Kennedy.

Those remaining to treasure his memory include his wife, Anna Jane Knight-Kennedy; one son, William Bradley Kennedy of Boonville; one daughter, Renae Brook Kennedy Sowers (Jared) of Bird City, KS; a brother, Michael Davis Kennedy (Kathy) of North Wilkesboro; a sister, Ritchie Ann Marion of Elkin; three grandchildren, Paisley, Kaylee and Paxton Sowers; plus four nephews, William Scott Marion, Brent Norris Marion, John Kennedy and Matt Kennedy.

Steve was a graduate of Surry County Schools and worked as an engineer with Penn Engineering Company in Winston-Salem for 14 years. He was a Veteran of the US Army.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 1, at Mackie-Sinclair-Hawkins Chapel, 2001 W. Main St., Yadkinville.

Dad I miss you so much !!!! I will forever treasure the special bond that we had together ! Just knowing that you are in the presence of God gets me through !!! And that you are free from pain !!! Praise God ! I will take good care of your precious grand babies for you and your sweet Anna! Brad and I will always laugh and share the wonderful memories we have of you !
